The Search Engine Algorithm Quest – Off-Page Optimization Introduction

I had planned to begin my first part on Off-Page Optimization guidelines and techniques, however I am starting to come down with the flu. Out of deep respect to my readers here, I wanted to post something today anyway.
Basically, Off-page Optimization can be defined as modifications and changes external to your actual webpages. There are a couple of things that you can do to help your rankings.
Get quality websites in your niche to link to your website. Even better, narrow it down to the actual page within your site that it is most relevant to. Here is an example. Have a page that explains the importance of Web Assessibilty link back to a page in your website that discusses the fact that your services include websites that are assessible. Take that even one step further. Let’s assume that you have followed my on-page optimization tips and have chosen a page with the filename web-assessibility.html and your keyphrase with the greatest keyword density on the page is “web assessibility”; you have used that phrase in your title tags, h1 tag, first and last 50 words on your page, 3 alt tags, etc. Now you are going to search out webpages exterior to your own website that also target the keyphrase “web assessibility”. If you can convince this webmaster or author to use “web assessibilty” as the anchor text to link back to your page. Wow! Do that over and over again and before you know it, that page will be ranking way up close to the top.
Ok, gotta go get some rest now…
