Google PageRank Update September 2007?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Well, here it is September 3rd and still no visible changes in the PageRank values in the Google Toolbar. In my honest opinion, that can only mean two things: Either Google has decided to no longer make it’s PageRank values visible, or they are getting ready to roll out some BIG changes in their algorithms. My guess, evidenced by recent fluctuation on the SERPs, is that a major algorithm update has taken place, maybe even new filters on paid links have been applied. Whichever the case may be OR not be. One thing is for certain, the quest for Googledom is still every SEOs ultimate goal. Since PageRank as a number has little or nothing to do with the SERPs, unless you buy or sell links for a living, it doesn’t really matter what your PageRank value is, only that your backlinks are relevant enough to get you on the 1st page of Google.

 Will there be a Google PageRank Update September 2007? Most definitely, will we be able to see those numbers? 1. There are constantly PageRank updates … not just this month, but last month, and the month before. The toolbar value is different, as you gathered, but it isn’t as if Google only updates PageRank every once in a while ;)

  3. I’m confused. Is there going to be a PR update and are we going to be able to find out the PR of our site? It does matter what the PR of our site is doesn’t it?

  5. @Mom,

    Yes, there is definitely going to be a PR update, it happens every few day. Are we going to be made aware of that value? Probably, but it’s all speculation right now.

    @Mike,

    You, me, and everyone else, right MOM?

  6. Today I noticed change in backlinks. It started. I reckon in the next 5 days the green bars will change in levels.

  7. I’ve noticed a dramatic decline in indexed webpages in the last few days, dropping by two thirds. Maybe this is a sign?

  9. I think the September PR update that you’ve seen so far is sorta like the August one which was a corrective update. I had one of the sites I’ve been working on for 4 months finally jump up into the first page on a semi competitive term still with a PR0. But its trust / authority definitely got reranked.

  10. I’m a first time webmaster and I must say that this whole process of waiting for a page rank update is nerve recking. I hope Google would be more clear and fair to the internet community instead of holding us hostage.

  11. Google publish Google PR only for one purpose - to have an excuse for spying on users of their toolbar.
    That toolbar is a 80% of success of Google search.
    But publishing any real numbers is very disadvantageously for Google.
    So Google will supply us with more and more outdated and false information in future.

  13. No update in the green bar here. Has any one else had success? I hear that the green bar doesn’t mean anything because Google constantly updates internally. I think its their way of getting their name on every site 1000 times - LOL…it keeps everyone talking about Google!
